On the subject of money
Obviously, we want to earn a lot of money.
We intend to generate huge, outsized returns over a given time frame. The important factor lies in how we approach to generating those earnings.
Generally, in the private sector, at least ‘publicly’, this gets a lot of shade quite often, or thrown back as a secondary priority. But it does much more harm than good to say money is not important or is a secondary motive. In a way, it is a borderline crazy statement, especially for a start up. A lot of companies / their founders promote the idea that money does not matter, which is pretty much false advertising. Money always has, continues to do so, and will continue to matter in the future. It deserves a standalone discussion.
RUNOGAMES is a private company, which was set up sell its offerings for a profit (to a market). This does not mean it is evil, or bad, or has some other secret agenda. On the contrary, the profit motive for us, as for any other company that intends to be successful, is a key driver in incentivising us to build better products and services for all our current and future customers. Business history, presents this as the biggest advantage of a capitalistic system.
The money motive is directly supported by the motive to improve people’s lives by making something they want. This is not secondary to the money motive but on par. In our case, we noticed that mobile games market is saturated at the surface level, but it is missing key things. More importantly, there is no where near enough innovation. There is an extremely limited number of games that offer a very enjoyable gaming experience and teach players about something at the same time. The educational element is missing, which leaves many people feel like they are not spending their time productively, causing them to stop using the products. We will explain our goals and vision for the company in detail in the next post.
You may think, ‘why hasn’t this section about money been included as part of the upcoming post, if earning money is one of the goals?’ That is true, but like we already pointed out, it deserves a standalone discussion.
